Based on St Andrew Street, in the heart of Plymouth’s historic quarter, ‘agency alternative’ Studiose has gained a reputation of a team of creative professionals who consistently deliver first class solutions.
Studiose is a multi-skilled team of independent creatives who charge freelance rates.
Founded by highly experienced graphic designer Simon Edwin in 2011, the collaborative studio combines all the plus points of working with an agency without the overheads often associated.
No. Studiose is a team of mature creative professionals, each with years of blue chip experience. We work together in a creative studio on St Andrew Street in Plymouth, Devon.
Brimming with independent branding, digital and print design, web development, copywriting and marketing expertise, the studio is able to take on projects of any size and scope.
We are each responsible for our part. And we appreciate that quality, diligence and reliability are linchpins in every project.
The idea is that freelance professionals work on their own projects within the Studiose environment, coming together as a team when required to offer the exact set of skills each project requires. It’s a practical, novel approach to running projects: an approach which means everyone benefits. Creative professionals get to collaborate on great projects, and the client gets the attentive, skilled methods of a design agency at more affordable rates.
What’s not to like?
Perhaps most powerfully, because we’re all responsible for our own part, it’s our individual reputation at risk. If we falter, we lose out on many levels, so everyone pulls their weight.
Project participants and clients use BaseCamp, a central and shared communication platform. It effectively manages discussions, presentations, client feedback, tasks and deadlines to ensure success for every project.

After graduating in 1998 with a degree from Ravensbourne validated by the Royal College of Art, provider of the UK’s most respected graphic design courses, Simon worked in London designing annual reports for FTSE 100s, loyalty magazines for British Airways, Sainsbury’s and O2.
In 2001, Simon made the move home to the South West and gained further experience working as a Senior Designer for BlueStone360º and then Design Director for Pulse8 which armed him with further digital and project management skills.
In 2011, Simon took the plunge and went freelance to be closer to home and to his young children. Two and a half years spent building a successful business from a quiet loft led to the idea of making a change and working collaboratively with like-minded local professionals.
The seed of Studiose was planted.
