Beer and design. It doesn’t get much better than this!

Geir Berthelsen, founder of ‘The World Institute of Slowness’, wanted to create a product to capture the essence of the Slow movement. Good beer, along with most things, takes time to make. Rush it and failure is certain.

Geir commissioned Devon based brewery and craft beer specialist Red Rock to produce a SlowBeer® and asked Studiose to create the branding and label.

First off was a site visit to the brewery near Bishopsteignton where we met the people who create the beer, where the spring water comes from, about the beer making process and finally enjoyed some samples, or two. The brewery is situated in the centre of a working farm. Earthy, real and incredibly rural.

Using a desktop font on the label went against everything the beer would stand for so we quickly agreed to use hand rendered type to strengthen the idea of taking time, hand crafting and creating something amazing.

SlowBeer® Original, Blackberry, Honey and Elderflower IPA will be available to buy soon on
