SUPBoarder – Online Magazine Design

SUPboarder has the worlds largest and most highly engaged audience of targeted SUP users. It attracts 362,000 beginners, intermediates and advanced paddle boarders by producing the best expert, honest and inspiring content and distributing it online.

They asked us to redesign their 5 year old website – Oh yes!

A site redesign on this scale is not for the faint hearted. Rigorous analytics research led to an educated wire framing process to ensure years of published content was restructured and displayed correctly. Activities, interests, independent kit reviews, kit comparisons, technique series, range reviews, news, travel reports, video blogs, user feedback and surveys, all made even more complicated by free and PRO subscriber content.

Then there’s the 6 levels of paid advertising and how it was integrated into the site without lessening the readers experience.

The design is clean, fresh and mobile first but performing beautifully across tablet and desktop devices.

supboardermag.com the most complex site we’ve ever designed. We could waffle on for hours about it, but the best way to experience it – is to click the big link above. Check out their about page too, you’ll see we’re now part of their core team and will be helping to keep the site looking and performing at its best.

“We had a big vision of what we wanted the next generation SUPboarder to achieve. Our website is the heart of what we do and vitally important for us. Following briefing our vision to Studiose they guided us through a clear process of turning that vision into reality. The result is a huge step up from our previous platform in both design, functionality and performance which we look forward to continuing to evolve with Studiose going forward.”
